The Travelin’ Lobster

LeeAnn enjoys her hot lobster roll at the Travelin’ Lobster.

I don’t recall whose idea it was to go to Maine as our last trip of 2022, but I’m sure glad we did. It was probably me. Maine one of the few states to which I’d never been. Once our route and reservations were set, LeeAnn started talking about how she was excited about eating lobster. I thought that sounded nice, but I wasn’t too excited: we have lobster here.

As our departure date approached, she kept talking more and more about how much she was looking forward to eating the lobster there. “I want to eat lobster twice a day every day,” she said. That sounded like overkill, but, cool, it’s hard to argue against.

On our first trip out to get lobster, we found The Travelin’ Lobster roadside shack. We’d passed by several other lobster shacks, but this one must have spoken to LeeAnn, because she insisted we turn around and go check it out.

Wow, am I glad we did! Not only was this the best lobster place we visited on our trip, but we got there on the last day they were open for the season. She got a warm butter lobster roll, and I got a lobster and cheese panini. They were both amazing. That sandwich was one of the best things I ate all year. I hope we return one day. Thanks, Travelin’ Lobster!
