We ate breakfast at the park's Skycrest Restaurant in The Lodge one morning. This is the view from inside while sitting at a table. Amazing. Photo by LeeAnn A bird flies over the cliffs at a Mount Magazine overlook. The sun sets over the valley seen from the amphitheater at Mount Magazine. The sun sets in the valley. Cliffs as seen from the west entrance to Petit Jean State Park. We stayed there last year, and decided to revisit it since it was so close to Mount Magazine. Cedar Falls is one of the big features of Petit Jean State Park. Barnie lays on the tent pad at our campsite doing his best to blend into the gravel. The trees on top of the mountain are just starting to bloom, while in the valley they are full of green leaves. Here's a closeup of a budding tree. Barnie found a more comfortable option. LeeAnn tries with mixed success to stay warm by the fire. LeeAnn and Barnie stand and sit proudly on top of the world, or at least on top of Arkansas. The trail to the top of Signal Hill was lined with irises, only a few of which were in bloom yet.
