Another morning walk

Barnie and I took another early morning walk this morning. This time we toured the deserted-appearing South of the Border travel complex/ tourist trap. Now, it wasn’t actually deserted, there were a few cars from people staying in the hotel, and of course there are campers in the campground, but on a Sunday just before first light, no one was about, giving it the appearance of desertion.

For those who’ve never been, South of the Border, or SOB as they abbreviate it, is a collection of tourist gift shops, two restaurants (non-chain), two gas stations, one truck stop, two hotels, one campground, and one run-down looking amusement park on the South Carolina side of the North-South Carolina border.

Yesterday I wrote about walking along US 17 in a small, one-stop Georgia town. This was a similar, but different feeling. I’m having a hard time putting into brief words how it was different, so here’s some photos that I hope find the words that I can’t.
